The tiger
is the largest of all the great cats. Its natural coloration
makes it extremely difficult to see in it native habitat.
Adult males and females maintain and patrol large territories,
which they defend, from other tigers. Solitary, unless accompanied
by young cubs or a pair in active courtship, the tiger is
nearing extinction in all of its natural habitat.
Poaching,
habitat destruction due to population growth, and the scarcity
of natural prey is all contributing to the eventual demise
of this beautiful animal. Whenever human populations come
into conflict with large predators, the great cats are the
losers. The white tigers seen at the Natural Bridge Zoological
Park are not albinos, but are a color mutation of the normal
tiger pattern. Our zoological park does very selective breeding
and only produces tiger cubs when there is a request for them
from a federally licensed facility. Zoological parks may serve
as a potential reservoir for breeding tigers if they are unfortunately
killed out in their natural habitats.
Our white male
tiger is Mohan
Our female tiger is Jasmine
